Functieomschrijving

As part of the Charging Technology team, you will work on improving the performance, reliability, and integration of charging systems across Allego’s international charging network. Your impact will be visible immediately: smoother charging sessions, higher uptime, and a better customer experience.

You will:

  • Track trends in EV charging technology, energy management, and smart grid innovations;
  • Communicate with hardware suppliers about new and existing products, features, and updates;
  • Work closely with product managers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of charging solutions;
  • Evaluate the quality of new suppliers, hardware components, chargers, and accessories;
  • Validate firmware releases for charging systems in cooperation with EVs and manufacturers;
  • Assess technological and economic feasibility of solutions for different business scenarios;
  • Act as the technical expert connecting chargers with Allego’s backend systems;
  • Support Operations with troubleshooting and advise on long-term improvements;
  • Conduct deep technical analysis and support partners inside and outside the organization.

Jouw profiel

You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real-world challenges in a fast-moving environment. You’re proactive, organized, and able to translate complex technical details into clear actions.

You bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar technical engineering role;
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of the product lifecycle for electronic products;
  • Experience with communication protocols such as OCPP, ISO 15118, or Modbus;
  • Knowledge of network integration;
  • Experience in multidisciplinary teams and writing functional specifications;
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles;
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus;
  • Availability to work partly from our Arnhem office;
  • Willingness to travel internationally a few times per year;
  • A valid driving license (B).
